I been thinking about this all and here’s my conclusion. The reason they haven’t kicked Russia out of swift yet is because they know it’s a moot point. I believe Putin has been quietly turning Russia into a crypto empire over the last few years. Threat of US dollar sanctions is how America has kept countries like Russia in-line. This obviously perturbs an old stock Soviet style commander like Putin, and he has always been very pro crypto. Recently the Russian central bank tried to ban bitcoin and Putin basically told them to go fuck themselves. The creator of ethereum is Russian and has a personal relationship with Putin.
I believe that Putin has allready successfully decoupled Russia from its dependence on the US dollar. I also believe that the US and NATO know this and are too afraid to admit it. Imagine they do it and excise Russia from swift, and then, nothing happens. What option doe NATO have at that point other than to go to war and See that Putin gets the Gadaffi treatment.
The question is how willing is NATO to engage in nuclear war?
