It is really not difficult to make 50k/yr just thrifting and selling items on ebay and similar sites. It takes zero risk to start doing that and there are a billion and one videos showing how it's done.

I've often thought it would be a pretty great idea to go to Africa, or some equally remote place where its hot as balls, and harvest solar energy to release hydrogen from some input material, bottle/compress it, and ship it to EU as green/fairtrade energy. If it blows up no one will care, there is a low risk of africans trying to steal it because to them its alien technology they cant do anything with, and there is very little needed to be paid in terms of red tape, health and safety, etc. And obviously aside from building the plant there isn't much need for personelle.

Also gaseous fuels don't go bad like petrol/diesel so if your boat gets stuck offshore it doesn't really matter, just leave it there.
