No power in this world can stop death. The most powerful men in this world cannot stop their own death. Do you believe in the afterlife? Do yours beliefs about the afterlife give you peace? Are you afraid of dying?
What are the politicial ramifications of humanity being powerless against death?
IF LIFE AINT JUST A JOKE
THEN WHY ARE WE LAUGHING
>Do you believe in the afterlife? Do yours beliefs about the afterlife give you peace?
No, I don't have an existential cope. This is it.
Death is a final check against evil along with isolation through the vacuum of space. Imagine if Mao or Stalin lived forever. The whole world would not be able to rest. God built in a timer just in case. We would do the same if we gave an AI free will. We would also isolate it in case it went bad.
Death is necessary in this world because sin exists in it. Death is necessary for our own sake. Living with sin for eternity is eternal torment for the soul.
Does believing that give you peace? What do you think is the meaning of life and the purpose of our existence?
>God allows one of the most powerful beings in the universe the garden
>Influences first toddler-minded humans
>Original sin is born
Thanks God
It's a good thing. Immortality is one of the worst things that could happen. The wicked and mega rich elite would live on forever and workers would work forever. It is one of the worst dystopian futures imaginable. Death is a good thing.
>Does believing that give you peace?
I used to and it didnt give me that and neither does it now. I do think an existential cope is important for the NPC masses tho in order to corral them into being on avg noice people
>What do you think is the meaning of life and the purpose of our existence?
What we make of it
God gave us freewill. The devil through man's unbelief or selfish will brought sin into this world. We have the choice to either want to be saved or not. And if there was no original sin then God wouldn't have His plan of Salvation through Christ thus no spiritual adoption for man to become sons of God.
Jesus defeated death, haven't you read the Bible?
Do you believe that there's an objective meaning to our existence? I believe that there's life after death and I believe in the existence of heaven and hell and believing these beliefs gives me peace. I'm not saved from judgment and eternal torment through my works but through the finished work of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that's why I have peace.
>do not mourn the inevitable , Arjuna , do not fear the inevitable
—Krishna
Death is the great equalizer. It is the greatest justice , greatest liberation , misfortune and sorrow to the fortunate , respite and relief to the suffering
It is beautiful, and sad , and painful , it is humbling .
It ,in a way , motivates all of politics
They're already torturing and harvesting in order to get/look younger. With telomere lengthening and better cancer treatments, if not immortality then long af lifespans are already on the horizon for the pedoelites
Spiritual death not death of the flesh/corruption. Spiritual death is wages of sin or the separation from our Holy God. When our faith is in Jesus and not in ourselves we wouldn't go through spiritual death or shame/guilt/condemnation when we unwillingly fall into the sins of our flesh.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Do think it's just that some people who committed atrocities in this life have died without paying for their crimes?
Again, God destroyed heaven on earth ie Eden by allowing Satan
>We have the choice to either want to be saved or not
Either follow me or be eternally damned is not free will
>Do you believe that there's an objective meaning to our existence?
Not really; the biological need to spread one's genes maybe
i personally believe that intelligent life implies a creator beyond our comprehension, but not the Christian God
the idea of being eternally punished for just choking your chicken is inately petty. what does God gain out of sending a near-infinite amount of human souls to eternal suffering
I believe Eden is symbolical to a place where the divine and the natural meet. God has nothing to gain from our obedience. He wants us to obey Him for our own sake or for the well-being of our souls because He loves. Religion will make us want to believe that God needs anything from us.
Rom 5:6 For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly.
Rom 5:7 For rarely will someone die for a just person — though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die.
Rom 5:8 But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
Not quite sure what you're asking here, leaf. I don't think they'll pay for their crimes after death, no -- if that's what you're asking. And if they were truly in the wrong (torturing children, etc) then your benevolent God would strike them and yet.
Thinking they'll pay after thriving their entire lives with the suffering of others is merely a cope
your belief that "this is it" is just as much of an existential cope as anything else
in reality you have zero idea
This. I'm also agnostic. One can infer the existence of an intelligent creator but going from that to the Christian God is too much of a leap
I believe that the suffering in this life is good because it draws us to the true meaning of life and the purpose of our existence in this world which is to know the One true God through Jesus Christ. I also believe we choose our destiny, like if a person wants to be saved do you think God will turn that person away?
We've already turned off the aging genes in rats, allowing them to live as perpetual "21 year olds".
If we can remove our consciousness from our bodies, we can be inserted into more durable machinery.
So yeah, death is there to be conquered.
The resources in this world will still run out.
I cant say for sure ofc, youre right memefag. but of all the probabilities, this being it is the most sound to me
>intelligent life implies a creator
it really doesn't
it's fully possible to have intelligent life without a creator
that's really a ridiculous non sequitur
no, one can't infer that at all
it's a possibility, but there are literally infinite ways existence could be the way it is without an intelligent creator too
a true agnostic would not make the assumption of an intelligent creator, but rather remain open to whether or not one exists
What's your motivation for living this life? All the goals in this life are temporary and uncertain.
yeesh, sorry about that ,
though I don't share the same views as you, vulgarly disrespecting a religion is just not my style
vulgarly disrespecting sadomasochistic death cults that are worthy of vulgar disrespect is absolutely something more people should be doing
I'm not religious so I don't get offended by religious mockery or by unbelievers. My faith is in Jesus not in religion.
ah, one of those people, i see
I already told you that
>ID spells out jew
>flag is UN
To what extent has God to do with that suffering? Some of His most dedicated followers suffered immensely like getting mauled by the lions and yet where was He? What was its purpose?
>inb4 they get a place in heaven
yeah but that's an obvious cope, leaf
>if a person wants to be saved do you think God will turn that person away
I know a few raised christians and faithful that ultimately strayed from God bc they never saw him while evil around them thrived
Eh I'd rather vulgarly disrespect everything I come across. Might as well jack it to animefied modern leaders if that kind of shit existed or if I had drawing skills.
Pretty cool actually. I'm touched.
The major detail is that every system is cyclic until it reaches extinction point.
No leader is immortal, so even the most trained sock puppet will change the system.
the political ideals have to be taught over and over again. As such, it gets murky fast and old terms giveway to new definitions.
It actually says
Jewl
you know like a diamond in the rough
When our faith is in Christ and not in ourselves through religion, we will see things through the eyes of eternity. We will see that the things in this world like our own life are meaningless compared to the divine Life or Christ. When we have this saving faith in Christ we will be set freed from the fear of death and we will have eternal security and assurance.
Ps 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
2Cor 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
2Cor 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2Cor 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
