Has this proven how useless this institution is? One of it's members is blatantly being invaded by another member, one on the security council. Russia acted alone, with majority of other members condemning it. Yet nothing has been done by the UN at all.

Yes it practically doesn't work, hence why NATO, Comecon, and the Warsaw Pact even existed.
Really the UN exists solely to act as an alternative means of projection for its founding and most large members. Hence why smaller nations are almost always ignored when conflict occurs, or some nations like Republic of China are not recognized as part of it.
It gets even worse when you take into account the UN prevents minor conflicts from being resolved and these terrible borders in the middle east and Africa that make these regions always teetering on balkanization So these areas will be perpetually in conflict because there strife can't be resolved without the UN attempting to keep the status quo. (and rape everybody in the area in a literal sense)

it is a weird organization. it's basically super high salary wellfare for people who want to world travel and cause political problems while being under the cover of nobody knowing who the fuck any of them are. they get to do all of the political bullshit and schemery but they don't have to be in the news like somebody running for public office.
