oblast literally just means region, it's not the name of a place
not sure why people insist on leaving it untranslated
kinda cucked if you ask me

Romanian in the other thread came up with a nice hypothesis - it's the dust kicked up by the army and possibly firearms

Couldn't give a fuck

Fuck off OP

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH MYLAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

also nSv is insanely small unit
it's about 3 roentgen pictures per hour in the most irradiated point on the map

that actually makes sense

Chernobyl will be russia's sanson option. If they get rekt, they'll blow it up and spread radioactive material everywhere. Uncontainable

brainlet take. chernobyl powers central north ukraine which is why it was taken plus a direct road to kyiv

I think "province" describes what an Oblast is best. But at the same time it's not a provincial system, so I think using the Russian term is better. Just like you wouldn't call US states "province" or just "region". The use of "state" has specific implications for how the US states are administered. So does oblast, especially in the Soviet context where the oblasts were artificial administrative districts that the USSR created around their administrative centers, and don't correspond to historical regions of the area.

It's just the dust being dislodged from the ground when their heavy tracked vehicles are driving through. It'll settle back in a couple of weeks..

>we actually melted Chernobyl down on purpose back in 1986, it was all 5D Chess!
But why irradiate Moscow though?
