i'll be logging off for the day. at the beginning, ukraine seemed like a lost cause. but apart from kherson, i guess they're holding better compared to the start of the campaign. i still think it is (much?) more likely that there'll be a president change within a week at most than ukraine holding against russia, but we'll see. the parameters i don't totally know are, what percentage of the ukrainians will fight for their country, and what percentage of russians will get disgruntled with the sanctions, as they're kinda allowed since ukrainians are of their kin and this campaign is not really like against a total enemy, say like turkey or US

Ok basically I'll explain: 1. EU contains security assurances. Norway wouldn't immediately be called to war if Finland were attacked, but Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania would. 2. Russia would have to defend Kaliningrad from EU troops, which would undoubtedly mean eventual attacks against Lithuanian or Polish territory. 3. Once Russia steps foot in Lithuania/Latvia/Estonia/Poland or even flies an airplane, yet alone dropping a bomb, NATO "territorial integrity" is violated. 4. Immediately, any country which was already at war with Russia to defend Finland can use Article V against Russia and call the US, Canada, Norway, etc. into the war. 5. By this point, your question has to be whether NATO members will choose to wait or simply refuse the call to war.
