Im in Russia and am reading this now. Nobody here is calling for war, just as the quote above says - Russians are cousins to Ukraine, the people themselves are linked. Nobody here is calling for war, and the idea of the Russian military pushing further into Ukraine is not one anybody I know even entertains.

Edit2: lots of replies so I will clarify a little further. This is my limited experience of events from an English speakers perspective living in Moscow.
I love Russia and consider it my home, I often defend against the blatant Russophobia on this platform.
What I have written is from my experience in the time since I woke up until I got to work.
The metro was quiet, those I spoke to are somber and seem very disappointed. My wife's colleagues are genuinely upset. Hard to know what happens next, and so the mood is strange and withheld.
