No mutants but most survivors will be mentally broken and a lot will die from cancer in the following years. Raiders likely in a lot of places, you won't survive alone even if you are well armed, stocked and trained. The only hope is to find some remnant of civilization or manage to find enough capable, unbroken people to start something sustainable yourselves.
