Actual rape in US prison is actually pretty rare. What happens is men prostitute themselves and it is 'considered' rape. Also, if you do get raped, its going to be by someone of your own race. An adult jails usually have more structure. When violent things do happen, there are usually some warning signs. In a well run jail, they will usually take steps to prevent it from spiraling out of control. In juvenile facilities its more chaotic and the jail authorities have a much harder time keeping up
