I had a similar situation happen to me where the father of the lad who stabbed me phoned to ask me to write a letter to help get the sentence reduced. I did. I think because I quickly healed but he was facing jail for years after I felt sorry for him. Also I should never have let the situation happen in the first place. I have since then grown into someone who would never get into a violent situation without having the upper hand.
