New rental lease: FROM: $ 2696/mo TO: $ 3950/mo

Yes, it's Manhattan, but does the serf have a boiling point? Landlords get rich while sleeping. Builders want Mexicans, they're cheap. Demand surges but who can pay the rent? People are going to lash out.

>BRO BRO I JUST LOVE THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF THE BIG CITY
You can move somewhere else.

>boiling point
they're frogs

>Yes, it's Manhattan, but
No, no buts. Leave or suffer, I don't care.

There are hundreds or thousands of boomers renting apartments 6x this size for under $600 a month. As soon as they die, the owner converts their apt to 6 like this and rents them out for that much. I would leave Manhattan asap, you can even get some decent waterfront land in Long Island for the cost of a condo in Manhattan.

>650000usd
>decent

Jesus christ

Just live in Brooklyn or Long Island City instead and commute 10 minutes. This is not a real problem.

I live in a 1bd 500spft block house with a carport for $600/month. Tile floor, new bath, new windows and new front door. Rear sliding glass door has view of a small pond. Perfect and affordable.

I pay 400 for my own cabin in Alaska. Beautiful nature and no niggers around me. Cityrats deserve what they get.

>500spft
Oh god

Ah yes, instead of $2600/mo with competitive wage in shitty dense podland, I can pay $2000/mo with mediocre wage in depressing meth-addictland

How tf can you raise rent while a tenant is still living in it ?
Don't you have a contract that's running?
My grandma lived in the same appartment for 50 years and she still pays liek 200€ In the city.
Makes the landlord seethe, but on the other hand it's cucked because she could have bought a house with huge land for like 40k.

a fool and their money, user

Get some roommates. Learn to code. Move to a cheaper area that's "not fun"

How long is each contract period?

I used to pay $1750/month in Chelsea like 5 years ago, for an apt not much smaller than this one. apartments.com/251-w-15th-st-new-york-ny/rxtdq82/ I believe Chelsmore rents them out.

I'd say the city is not worth it, I wouldn't pay even $1000 to be there today, no matter how big or small the apt is. You should really take your money somewhere else and let some idiot pay $4K/month for a studio.

Look at places in upstate NY, if you have to be close to the city. CT also works for some people. NJ has that Newport spot, it's 1 stop away from FiDi. You could easily rent a 2-bedroom there for less than $3K.

But you should buy land, build a house, and ideally work remotely.

desu it's still highly undervalued. imagine how much money you can make in manhatten in a month simply off networking and connecting the right people.
$4k is nothing for being in this place

pff nothing will happen and they will do nothing about it.

The problem is that the prices are inflated by two income households. Husbands and wives who both work want the same one bedroom apartment that a single person wants and they can afford to pay double for it, so the price goes up

You should be happy. You own nothing.
