It's a very interesting and well-done show, but the lead character who is just fine blinding his enemies with razor blades and destroying lives indiscriminately for his own goals draws the line at heckin' invalid racism in 1920s England. It's fun to ridicule but for me at least the meme is just a vehicle for working through the disappointment of another history-drama ruined by current year political AIDS.

Isn't it wild that after more than half a century of television and movies Doctor Who is dead in the water as a franchise? Everyone I knew growing up was familiar with it, it was advertised and well known, and even people who hadn't seen any of it could recognize it. Now, after such a short time of intensive modern writing and diversity hires in the effects department it's just all gone. But despite all of this, companies keep trying to make it work, they keep thinking shows with obnoxious brown lesbians leading the charge will go anywhere. Blackrock may have a lot of money but God damn they must not be very tied to it. The craziest part of all this is that that guy in the pic probably still has a job after killing arguably the most famous franchise in English television history in record time.

You call it wild. I call it a crime. But then I felt the show was dead the moment the Doctor was crying over the Master's supposed death. The new series never held a candle to the classic show.
