Not even a remotely comparable scenario given the history and politics of Ukraine and Russia. Plus the situation is more akin to the Cuban missile crisis in the 60s. Just like the US didn't want foreign nukes on the edge of it's southern territory, Russia also doesn't want US nukes (or de facto US nukes) in Ukraine.

Then yes that would be very similar.
