i started doing this as well. its gotten really bad the past couple years in vegas. there have been a handful of times i might be cruising at 80 in the left lane, and will still get some jackass riding me for some reason. i pretty much cruise at like 73 now. i also prefer staying in the left lane since i can, and people can only pass from one side of me. sitting in any of the middle lanes, people constantly pass from both sides swerving in and out.

Because the state enforces speed limits, people think it's okay to be in the left lane because the are going 71mpg when there is a line of 46 cars in the right lane going 70.5mph. There should be no speed limits. There should be strict enforcement however of proper lane usage.

Our driving laws and etiquette are backwards, because driver's education encourages proper lane usage but the state simultaneously punishes any variation in speed. If there were no speed limits and the cops gave tickets for every person incorrectly in the left lane, most of our problems would be fixed.
