the US air force is the largest air force in the world and the US Navy operates the 2nd largest air force in the world. sure we aren't at peak cold war levels of readiness but we actually have the capability unlike the russian federation. the russian air force was literally rusting and falling apart until like the early 2010s lol. as far as force projection goes, russia has a brown water navy at best.
