Putin virtually stated on Russian TV today that they’re at least going after two whole Ukrainian oblasts and will likely go after more. They named territory that is unambiguously controlled by the Ukrainian government right now as an “independent republic” that needs to be defended. Putin has received authorization from the Russian government to “use military force abroad”. The Russian embassy in Kiev is evacuating its staff. We are as close to war as is humanly possible.
