3D Printed Gauss gun

youtu.be/eAHKS0nVlL4 What are the political implications of easily produced non controllable firearms?

We already have them, they aren't gauss bullshit, they're real guns you can make them at home with some steel pipe and some cutting tools

It's $3800 and not 3d printable
Sega

it is only about as powerful as a 22 LR and
pistola jesús had to turn it down to about half that to get it to stop keyholing.

That plastic looks rather 3D printed you faggot

all that cad design work and they couldnt figure out a way to run that wire inside of the frame? looks stupid AF

railguns are not firearms dumbass. railguns are outside the purview of the atf and if any atf agent tries to regulate your railgun you are legally allowed to shoot them. but must obey the doe and probably fcc. in many ways those are worse.

71.5 meters per second. So, it's slightly better than a slingshot?

>political implications
munitions stockpiles for railguns and gauss guns. the thing you don't understand is weighting and designing the ammunition.

assuming you're involved with commercial production, the first thing you will notice is that not all steel rod from all manufacturers, or even a single manufacturer, are the same. therefore to squeeze more ballistic performance out of the mechanism you need to refine the ammunition, it's simple really. hundreds of years of human history have been devoted to this, you aren't getting around it. the real issue is magnetic variations in the stock which change the projectile's response to induced fields. while this sounds nit picky, when you reach the point where you are firing 1000 rounds through a test gun on a range you better make sure it feeds many types of ammo correctly, and fires them. when they say that the device uses steel rod as ammunition, they are implying you can make your own ammunition and get the same performance as someone who is using well regulated ammunition.

that's not true. there's also sabotage, because magnetizing your stocked ammunition against a certain vector will prevent it from firing ever again, that is to say, it's far easier to sabotage your steel rod ammunition than it is for you to build a plant that makes them in your basement, as if that helps. it would be far smarter to use water cartridges, that way your ammunition cannot be sabotaged, you don't need gunpowder, and the machine still functions by discharging (albeit to the cartridge instead of the rail or coil).

but what would i know, right?

You going to print out an empty shell of a gun and throw it at people?

You will be better off with $20 bow made of pvc pipes desu

Lethal, but still not practical. I seen this yesterday and is in alpha but it will take some year for them to produce a decent gun with good velocity and with no flukes. Many dry shots. And only goes 70 m/s on average that's why I think it will take some years to get a good one.

That forgotten weapons guy is a member of antifa.
I have nothing against him personally and he did good content but I wont watch his stuff since I found that out.

Jeorg sprave unironically have contraptions that are 1000 more potential then this with 1/1000 of the budget.

Guass gun is a fucking meme
Chemical energy (gunpowder > compressed air > energy stored in composite materials/rubber/steel etc (bows and slingshots) > a fucking sling > roman pilum > a thrown brick >>> coil gun

Worthless

>That forgotten weapons guy is a member of antifa.
source?

pffft lasers wreck all. It can disable tanks.

Je is called gun jesus

water cartridges? how would they accelerate, theyre not magnetic?

garbage performance, unreliable design, just get an air rifle lol

>pffft lasers wreck all. It can disable tanks.
The same power supply connected to a bunch of high powered laster would be a competent weapon.

can't you just cut off the positive side of the magnet?

I cant remember the source but it was pretty credible.
I would be pleased to find out it wasnt true.

You can make a single shot slam fire weapon with pipes and a nail faggot.

>subsonic

this gun has the energy equivalent of a .22LR

What is an 80% lower. What is a Polymer 80.

>What is an 80% lower.

20%

well, they jam a lot more. you don't want to rely on a 3d printed gun.

it will probably be less of a problem in the future

There is no actual source because he is silent about his politics on his channel

The idea comes from the fact he does business with Karl Kasarda. Who is a satanist/antifa type. It has more to do with people in his circle. Take from that what you will.

I, personally, don't have a problem with him.

Until the mechanical properties of 3d printed metals improve, 3d printed guns are just a meme. Unpredictable fatigue failure is a very serious liability. We need more reliable methods of printing to prevent internal defects/voids.

The future is now, it’s called injection molding.

Gauss guns are too bulky

I found my own to be not worth it.

>high cost
>low velocity projectiles
>heavy
>complex

polycarbonate tube for the barrel..

I honestly struggle to understand the cost/benefit ratio of 3d printing. Unless you specifically want to make something out of plastic, it seems easier and a LOT cheaper to just make things out of wood or metal. I guess plastic is lighter. Is that all?

This is "deviant olam" channel i presume.

Again, never seems to talk about it, just collabs with them occasionally. I personally cant see a gun nut being a hyper sexual liberal retard.

the modern inkjet printer, electric car, cpu, operating system, taylor ice cream machine, john deere tractor, and npc is manufactured with this in mind. why not the plastic fabricator? durable goods are dangerous.

Its apart of evolution. The first apes with spears probably ate other apes after this wonderful creating.

Then the internet poisoned the minds of billions effectively weaponizing propaganda

A tool for preservation
