Most people don't realize when soldiers are wearing their uniforms out in public, it's because they either got off base/work and they want to get a bite of food or something from a store real quick. That doesn't mean there aren't soldiers who use the uniform as a bragging right when they did jack shit as well, I know a few people like that

Going out to dinner, and you've clearly been home and already showered after work? Better change back into scrubs. Just yesterday I was at the supermarket and watched some cunt park their car, get out, grab a stethoscope off the passenger's seat and tie it around their neck. All soldiers are incredibly giant pieces of shit. I live near a millitary base thats right off the highway and these mother fuckers will cut you off half a mile from their turn off to the base just to wait in a big ass line of other soldiers waiting to get checked through the gates for 20 minutes so they can go fuck each other in the showers and do really nothing of value.

In the UK the only people you see wearing the uniform in public is army cadets probably on their way to or from a barracks. Most armed forces know well enough that wearing your uniform while not on duty is just going to invite the wrong kind of attention

I knew lots of ppl that went into armed forces; and whenever they came home to visit they wore regular clothes, but this one chic that was in the navy, when she was on leave and had returned home to her parents town which is centre of England so nowhere near the coast, every day she would wander around the town centre in her navy dress, clearly trying to show off she was in armed forces, and whenever she saw someone she recognised she’d talk to them and go on and on about being in armed forces.
I worked in the town centre and I saw her doing this every day for a week, she even spoke to me a few times.
Only ever known two other persons wear their mil outfit when on leave and that were soldiers returning to duty, they were waiting for a train and I asked why they had their camo on and they they’d both said it was cuz they’d get on the train for free if in their mil outfits, so they had an excuse, but the chic I’d mentioned was just after attention

Why don't soldiers wear better looking uniforms, camo is just plain ugly, why not dress them in something more regal and respectable looking, like give them actual official looking uniforms with hints of color on the sleeves down the breast and the shoulder pads.

That's what dress uniforms are user. They're worn during ceremonies. Also camo uniforms are actually pretty comfy, loads of pockets are handy too.
