TL;DR:
Usury is lending money for profitable interest where the collateral is personally guaranteed by the borrower themselves, as opposed to an existing property.
You can still make loans, there would just be far fewer and the prices of homes, cars, education, etc. would come crashing down, making everything more affordable.
