sneed

how many times will you post this retard tier take today?

>not being able to differentiate between fiction and reality

Homer unironically had a decent job. Nuclear power plants pay good money usually.

This is still possible. You have to live in a flyover town and work in a high risk trade.

He's not wrong

He also only got in by luck. All his co-workers have at least a college degree.

Its a cartoon!

Why are there poor people in the Simpsons?

This it's happening all around the west, fucking crazy, i hate capitalism

bump

It's a fucking cartoon you stupid faggot, not surprised you're a delusional idiot

But he did go to college... in one timeline. Originally he was hired/promoted to his position as a PR act by mr burns.
Frank grimes actually comments on how ridiculously lavish the "middle class" simpsons live, while saying he himself lives in a shithole above a bowling alley. And he actually has a degree.

My mom rented, bought, sold, bought, sold, and then bought again a home by the time she was 34. She didn't get her GED until she was 39. She got a job at the factory through a recommendation from my grandfather who was a machinist, the job paid about the equivalent of $35 an hour today with no high school education. The factory no longer exists, she sold each home for a profit, now she is retired at the age of 63 and lives on a lake. At 40 she took a test to work for the FBI. The test no longer exists today she now has double retirement, a federal retirement for 22 years and the PENSION she gets from her factory job.

None of the methods my mother used to get ahead in life exist for anyone born after her.

>Bullshit reality wasn't sustainable
No shit. You want single family homes in your suburbs? You should be willing to work your entire life to pay its debt.

In 1975 an Asian immigrant with a high-school education could rent an apartment in a good part of town with a part time job. She told me.
I could not afford that same apartment today working white collar.

Yeah it's fucked up, and you look at Canada and it's really fucked up. Why are the prices so high you might wonder. Maybe it's just a bad period of the economy or something. No, the cost is all wrapped into the land value. Why is the land value so high? Because to the government land is just like fiat currency, millions of acres of land but they restrict it to just a small amount available and introduce zoning laws to limit everything to light density single family homes and create artificial scarcity to ramp up the prices. I wonder (((who))) profits from all of this. In my country there is more than a thousand trees per person, a full days work at a standard low income job will allow you the ability to purchase two pieces of 1/2" plywood, wow. Now they artificially limit the construction materials as well.

>otto: drug addict/adult metalhead
>barney: alcoholic
>kurt van houten: loses money and cracker factory job in divorce
>nelson's family: is there any explanation there? are they just white trash? I'm thinking of the episode where lisa develops a crush on him.
honestly, they did a good job of presenting the lower class whites of the 90s, and I say this as white trash who grew up in the 90s.

What do you mean? You lazy milennial. One less avacado a day and you could afford this lovely starter home in the north of England (the 'cheap' bit, in comparison to the south):

What, you mean you can't afford nearly half a million quid, and salaries up there are around £25k a year? (or 40k in a VERY professional job). Pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

Death to America

I didn’t realize the U.K was so down trodden but the per capita income of the lower and middle classes is equivalent to 38,000 pounds a year and the median listing price would be about 190,000 pounds

25k-40k? What the fuck is going on in bongland? That's the range I was making at 18 with no college degree, 20 years ago

He is absolutely wrong and you both should have the shit beaten out of you.

"Free" health insurance.

You do know that healthcare in burgerhell is the most expensive on Earth and we also have one of the worst housing crises on the planet also, right?

Are you converting those pounds to the dollar equivalent?
Here's my salaries:
>2009 - £16k
>2015 - £22k
>2019 - £29k
>2020 - £36k
>2022 - £40k
All as a Software Engineer. Starting after graduation. Worked in the public sector in the north up to 2020, so salaries were lower there. Now on £40k on a Southern-ish salary.

So I can barely afford a falling-to-bits terraced in a decent part of the north.

I remember when mortgages used to be calculated on 3x one income...

WHOA NOSTALGIA!!
DO FRIENDS NEXT - DOWNTOWN APARTMENT? PSHAWWW
kys

I do remember this being criticized as unrealistic even in the 90's, it's a goddamn television show, did you know Al Bundy owned a similar side house a shoe salesman?

Most people are on no-where near that £38k mate. I'm a Software Engineer and my lass is a Data Scientist, and we're both on around £40k, in a Southern-ish area. (Not London, but not the 'cheap' north either).

Most people are working in shops or unskilled work earning minimum wage or mid-20k.

holy shit brits are poor, don't you have a literal monarch living next door to you in a castle, lmao

Yeah they didnteven have jobs had. The time. And the dude with the nosewas the. Only one with steady employment with a degree

It is you who is retarded my friend

the Simpsons began in the 80s

The collapse initiated 20 years ago. We're just going through the motions now.
No. There's nothing you can do to stop it. The best you can do is get ready for what comes next.

>Americans don't take care of themselves
>Food stamp gibs to buy as much junk food as you want
>Why does it cost so much to take care of land whales?

I know many of you are too young to remember the 90s but most non college educated single income households that I lived around during that era, that owned any property at all, were living in single wide trailers. Double wide if they saved up for another decade. Everyone else rented.
Like everyone else is saying: It's a cartoon you retards.

You could have just said “my mom grew up in a white country”

It costs so much because America has capitalism as its state religion so things like ethical behavior in the medical field are unthinkable. That's why American doctors are the third leading cause of death in the nation.

Progressives sell you College Degrees. Soon you will need a Degree for your McDonalds job. Corporate Progressivism is about Control, stop appeasing them and giving them money.

During the same time frame, my Dad got a morgage on a rural home that wasn't as nice. But it was a home and land. He was in the Navy and never got higher than E5.
