Can we talk about the ungoing tech revolution and automation. Can't we take this problem to a human element even to a value based problem, what I mean is shouldn't we look at the human need for meaningful occupation first and should we take a good look at efficiency and let it not be first priority?. Take trucking for an example.
Tech revolution and the human cost
>Take trucking for an example
they are trying to remove the human from this industry using EV semis. I don't think it will work, but they are trying.
>Occupation
The entire idea of having an occupation and working for others is satanic in nature. Humans are never supposed to work for others to survive, we need to instead work for ourselves. The reward of doing something yourself has a greater impact on the individual as a whole than earning a wage from an occupation.
When you work for your food, your land, your family, etc you feel rewarded and satisfied spiritually. This is true freedom, doing what you want in a way that makes you feel satisfied and happy. The modern world has made humans lazy and thus spiritually unfulfilled. Technology is just expediting these facts.
So I had to go without a car (against my will) for 3 years in suburbia.
Gives you a different perspective for sure. I do agree with Tolkien that "The internal combustion engine is the most evil invention of all time"
But I'm also happy to be driving again, purely because everyone else does and your locked out of society if you don't
Idk if society would be better, but it'd certainly be all around healthier without cars. Its ridiculous.
Trucking can still evolve IAM pro electric not so much batteries but driving if it gives people meaning and Joi. We can make alaw so every company played by the same rules and competition is presserved

This I agree with to a point there are worthwhile occupations nurse, doctor, cergion, trucker and so on the list will be quiet long

We're going to run out of oil by the end of the century and with it the dream/nightmare of a techno dystopia. Instead we'll have a good old dark age just like the ones we used to know.
Sneed's Feed & Seed (formerly Chuck's). Also, "Bart's Fart & Shart" doesn't make any sense because the store wasn't called "Feed & Sheed" under Sneed's ownership so stop posting it.
They told me we where running out of oil 30years ago too?.but that is not the problem electric is fine batteries suck tho.The problem of the progressives is they are not considering the human need.I listened to a podcast about uploading there consciousness into a computer, even entertaining this idee is mind boggling to me, have they never considered what it is to be human?.
Progressives are disconnected from reality. Their attempt to upload themselves unto a computer is the ultimate manifestation of this.
At other times in history the right has been disconnected from reality with their dreams of a utopian heaven in the hereafter.
>but that is not the problem electric is fine batteries suck tho.
We would need to produce thousands of nuclear power plants to reliably switch to electrical energy. If we rely too heavily on nuclear we will run out in another 20 years after switching. Note that the 230 years is at today's consumption level. We would need to discover some new energy source (think UFO alien tier) to keep our projected growth into the future.
>According to the NEA, identified uranium resources total 5.5 million metric tons, and an additional 10.5 million metric tons remain undiscovered—a roughly 230-year supply at today's consumption rate in total.
>They told me we where running out of oil 30years ago too?
We have more oil than we claim to have (to jack up prices) but still a finite amount. Give it a century or so. We might have to contend with a techno dystopia but our descendants will have other problems. Hopefully they will come to their senses and return to monkey.
