Answer: started by Paul Ferber, stolen by Ron Watkins.

The Swiss team said its accuracy rate was about 93 percent. The French team said its software correctly identified Mr. Watkins’s writing in 99 percent of tests and Mr. Furber’s in 98 percent.

Machine learning revealed that J.K. Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter, had written the 2013 mystery “Cuckoo’s Calling” under another pen name. The F.B.I. used a form of stylometry to show that Ted Kaczynski was the Unabomber. In recent years, such techniques have helped detectives in the United States and Britain solve murder cases involving a forged suicide note and faked text messages.

>Analyses built on long-established forms of forensic linguistics that can detect telltale variations, revealing the same hand in two texts. In writing the Federalist Papers, for example, James Madison favored “whilst” over “while,” and Alexander Hamilton tended to write “upon” instead of “on.”
>Sophisticated software broke down the Q texts into patterns of three-character sequences and tracked the recurrence of each possible combination.
>Their technique does not highlight memorable, idiosyncratic word choices the way that earlier forensic linguists often did. But the advocates of stylometry note that they can quantify their software’s error rate.
>Each team applied different techniques. The Swiss scientists used software to measure similarities in the three-character patterns across multiple texts while comparing the complexity of vocabulary and syntax. The French team used a form of artificial intelligence that learns the patterns of an author’s writing in roughly the same way that facial-recognition software learns human features.

Nah, I've seen this computational-linguistics shit fail so badly time and time again. Of course people remember the few hits in author identification: textbook confirmation bias.
Some of us know for a fact that QLARP often posted from the west coast without VPN'ing/Tor'ing/proxy'ing.

>Neither team ruled out the possibility that other writers had contributed to Q’s thousands of messages, especially during what appears to have been a period of collaboration between Mr. Furber and Mr. Watkins around late 2017.
>But the scientists relied on other facts to narrow the list of feasible writers to test. That evidence, the scientists said, increased their confidence that they had unmasked the main authors.
>“At first most of the text is by Furber,” said Mr. Cafiero, who works at the French National Center for Scientific Research. “But the signature of Ron Watkins increased during the first few months as Paul Furber decreased and then dropped completely.”

That isn’t what the dod told China.

>The early Q messages, which the scientists say resemble Mr. Furber’s writing, lay out the core QAnon myths and slogans that later messages repeat. That was also when Mr. Furber and a few other early promoters helped attract the interest of entrepreneurial YouTube creators who amplified the messages.
>But at the start of 2018, both studies found, the writing changed conspicuously. Where the 2017 posts were filled with Socratic questions, the later posts were more declarative and expository, with heavy use of exclamation points and words written in all capital letters. Sometimes, Q shared internet memes.
>The Q messages had recently jumped from an older message board to the one run by Ron Watkins and owned by his father, Jim — the site known then as (eight) chan and now as (eight) kun.
>The evident change in writing style at the start of 2018 coincided with an unusual exchange between the Q account and Ron Watkins. After a period of confusion, whoever was writing as Q publicly asked Mr. Watkins to confirm that the messages were still coming from the original Q. Mr. Watkins immediately did, and then Q declared all future posts would appear exclusively on Mr. Watkins’s platform.
>Mr. Furber began complaining that Q had been “hijacked” and that Mr. Watkins was complicit.
>From then on, the scientists said, the messages very closely matched the writing of Ron Watkins alone. “When QAnon started to be successful, one of them took control,” said Mr. Roten of OrphAnalytics.
>In a podcast interview in 2020, Fredrick Brennan, who started the message board that the Watkinses now own, asserted without proof that Q was the invention of Mr. Furber. An HBO documentary released last year, “Q: Into the Storm,” built a case that Ron Watkins was behind the messages, and in it Mr. Watkins briefly seemed to admit that he had written as Q. He then smiled, laughed and resumed his denials.

From the very beginning through to at least the end of 2018, QLARP often wrote with weirdly placed underscores that weren't hyphen/em-dash slips or any kind of secret-decoder bullshit. Can't be bothered fetching the numerous examples, but here's the kind of thing I'm talking about:
"The cat sat on the mat_ and the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
So any analysis that doesn't account for this is dubious in my mind. I once downloaded the 4plebs archives and found a mutt poster from 2016 and 2017 who'd had tons of Q's idiosyncrasies, but this poster's posts didn't lead to anything.

>obviously lying
>keep pushing it anyways

Why do you think their analysis wouldn't account for it?

Don't believe it, because I know how incompetent these studies can be, but it is plausible. They don't give sample sizes, who they looked at, and they already have the critical error of comparing Twitter posts to chan posts (because they have to try and provide identity).

I really do not believe you can find distinctions at the Twitter level when comparing non-tweets. Finding changes in prose is also meaningless. All these studies have confirmed is that the Q larp changed hands at some point.

Stonetoss called it

Attached: Q actually J.jpg (1024x341, 75.97K)

Because they didn't say it did. Anyway, they shouldn't have compared Twitter and chan posts. A better study would be to analyze Q posts and then break down ALL chan posts that are similarly formatted.

That will tell you more information than trying to conform it to Twitter

I mean, sure, I'll look into Furber, but I'm not optimistic about finding a bunch of style idiosyncrasies I noticed that were easily overlooked.

Fake and gay
Parallel construction

>Use retarded, unproven methods that sound complicated enough to placate the normies
>Pin it on whoever you want

lol
Qanon is a ISA/Jsoc PsyOP

Parallel construction means getting real target but obfuscating the methods. So how is it fake?

I FUCKING KNEW IT WAS HIM I NAILED THAT SHIT IT WAS SOMETHING ABOUT HIS PERFORMANCE ON THAT FUCKING PILLOW GUY ELECTION STEAL SHOW........

Lapers larping that they caught a larper

MY THIRD EYE OF GOD IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL NIGGERS...........

I did the same. It's actually more likely that Ron trained a generative adversarial network to generate text based on what he fed in.

Impossible. They never had a large enough sample size to draw from. Q always spoke in short words and sentences. This is completely cope, as they couldn’t figure out who Q actually was. So they picked scapegoats for demoralization.

It's fundamentally fake. You didn't get pulled over for a busted taillight, your taillight was fine. But suddenly they have grounds to search your car full of: drugs, guns, humans (they never prosecute human trafficking because they're in on it), competing products. It's a mafia operating under the guise of law enforcement. Straight to the pits of hell they go.

"scientists" are fully retarded and I don't believe them
>t. have science degree

Kek

These niggers aren't even close. I love how they all downplay Q but quietly obsess about it.

Picrel is a hint as to the real Qanon

Sure, parallel construction is immoral and dishonest but are you disputing the conclusion that Q changed hands and the last "owner" was Ron Watkins?

CMON THAT GUY IS A HAPA AND MOST OF THE TIME HAPA IS JEW MAN ASIAN WOMAN......... I DONT REALLY KNOW THIS GUY OR ANYTHING ABOUT HIM BUT U GUYS PROBABLY KNOW EVERYTHING....

>sure, the evidence im presenting is immoral
the core of this is rotten
and you expect good fruit?

I was wondering yesterday if you could use this kinda thing to create user profiles on pol. Maybe tie them to their real identities if you ran the same thing outside of pol.

i miss 8ch

Anyone who read 1984 knew Qanon was a gayop

361956505
Q rhymes with Jew

FUCK

FUCK rhymes with CHUCK

It was Ezra Cohen-Watnick

kek

remember when the FBI had to throw out all past DNA evidence cause it was based on complete bullshit science?

washingtonpost.com/local/crime/fbi-notifies-crime-labs-of-errors-used-in-dna-match-calculations-since-1999/2015/05/29/f04234fc-0591-11e5-8bda-c7b4e9a8f7ac_story.html

Ron is the kid of the founder of eight-changs. He's actually very good at this type of shit. One of the best. Thing is, even if he is Q, they can't arrest him

Attached: f9d52de7-5492-4151-9ac1-99266aaf47b1-ron-watkins.jpg (300x450, 19.02K)

I jump to conclusion a lot. I'll admit that. But I'm fairly certain that Ron himself either explicitly admitted, or very strongly implicitly admitted that he was Q.
At the thick of 'Trump will win the lawsuits' narrative, every Qanon-ists wanted hints from their inside guy Q. Ron was giving almost the same narrative, the same messages, the same style but under his real name in Twitter and other sites.
That should have been all the evidence anyone needed really.

less than 10
3 non military

There's no control group. Watch anyone in the Q movement type/speak. Everyone in the Q movement has the same linguistic queues. They learned to talk that way *after* reading and discussing Q with others, in the same way this research didn't look at their talking queues *before* Q was a thing.

>The F.B.I. used a form of stylometry to show that Ted Kaczynski was the Unabomber.
That's a brazen fed lie. The fag BI cunnilinguists completely screwed up. It was Ted's sellout brother who recognized the prose and did Ted in.
>faked text messages.
This, too, is a lie. You can't identify someone from short snippets of canned shit, only from longer texts. What's more, you can't prove that someone is NOT the author of a text.
>J.K. Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter, had written the 2013 mystery “Cuckoo’s Calling” under another pen name
That might be so but it's not hard, only a lot of work. It's easy to automate.
>Using machine learning, separate teams of computer scientists identified the same two men as likely authors of messages that fueled the viral movement.
because they used the same computer program. I call bullshit. The qnigger did not expose much for stylometry to work with, and deliberately so as he himself stated.
>James Madison favored “whilst” over “while,” and Alexander Hamilton tended to write “upon” instead of “on.”
And that's pretty much all there is to forensic cunnilinguistics. Despite being simple, most of those shitters working for law-enforcement turned out to be complete charlatans.

>used software to measure similarities in the three-character patterns across multiple texts
IS THAT A FUCKING JOKE? How is HST on Tuesday not different from HST on Thursday?

>t. found my boss' ghostwriter with google
>t. identified two of three haterz with google when simping for random chick
>t. could spot several socks in political forums without using any computer

Lol why do glowniggers want so badly to pin this on Ron Watkins? Anyone else remember when they "proved" that it was him by "discovering" that he was the owner of 8kun, thereby proving that he must be the poster in question? Seriously, they ran with that subhuman logic for at least a year. And now this? Kek. Why???
