who is he battling? Satan? Why would the creator of existence need to fight a physical battle against one of his own creations? Why did an omniscient god who is infallible and determined fate before time ever began create an angel that he would then have to pretend to struggle to fight against, but he already knows the outcome, and as supreme being of the universe, even if he did t know everything before it happens, he couldnt possibly be topped because nothing is more powerful...

He doesn't return for the battle of Armageddon that happens before. Armageddon is a place not so much an event. There is a valley, called Amageddon. Where an army is to march through and experience a fire so hot that it melts their skin.
Jesus returns after all the Christians on earth have been killed. For 3 days.
