Why does the US debt never have any negative consequences?

The dollar is the world reserve currency

Bump

I’m actually curious.

Because it's not real.

because national debt is a totally different thing than your personal debt, and you don't actually understand what it is.

have you seen the inflation?

it's not just the US all countries in the world have national debt

Cause you don't pay taxes nigger

Its having negative consequences now, in that the dollar has to be devalued and its going to lose reserve currency status. It might have survived the devaluation but the American government is insane and everyone hates it including Americans.

My brainlet understanding is and this is true for most countries with their own federal reserve is, each year they mint new dollars to pay down their own debt. Conveniently in the process of doing this, you increase the money supply further lowering the debt.

also bump for curious aswell

for a lot of complicated jewish reasons. a simple way to understand the main reason is that the US is just servicing the loan at this point, so paying the interest, not paying down the principal. They keep gaining debt (created from treasury bonds and fake bullshit that is then bought with unlimited credit) knowing it will never be paid off. The higher the debt, in theory, the more they will have to pay to be able to borrow money forever. So whats another trillion? This is why it costs millions of dollars in Canada to buy a house and they just shrug it off and pay a low interest rate.

Because, realistically, there's no chance of the US defaulting. As long as people are willing to loan the US money (AKA bonds) and as long as there enough $$ in the budget to pay the interest on those bonds, the US can borrow indefinitely. And if push came to shove, they can always print more money to cover the difference (obviously not ideal, but a fail-safe).

Any time there's talk about budget impasses in Congress with regard to paying the debt, it's purely political theater. However much either side of the aisle might hate each other, it's no one's best interest to deep-six the full faith and credit of the feds. 'Cuz money is king, and useless paper helps no one.

The part I dont understand about this is, who's enforcing their interest payments? Why cant they just say fuck it?

>8% Yearly inflation
>"why does the US debt never have any negative consequences?"

Just wait.

because there will be zero incentive for anyone to issue loans to them. If they say fuck it, the loop stops and they cannot barrow more forever. It's a big circle jerk.

This. It has negative consequences, they're just exported to other countries when we print trillions in funny money to make up for it.

We are the reserve currency and the federal reserve can print much as sand niggers can pump oil and sell it using federal reserve notes.
End the Fed

It does, but a lot of the effects can be masked by the USD's status as the world reserve currency. Meaning that its held as FX in a lot of other countries and a lot of international deals are done in dollars. Other countries are basically buying up our inflation.

Start country.
Print 100 Bison Bucks
"I don't want the government to be in debt!"
Try to tax 110 Bison Bucks.

See the problem yet?

This

Now pay interest on every bison bucks Buffalo reserve bank prints

slide thread, folks

You mean paying yourself more money that you print in the future?

Yup you can only pay back debt only using money you borrow. Honk Honk
End the Fed

It's connected to the petro dollar and used as the reserve currency. The greatest threat to it is crypto and china. Can't wait for silver to make it back into circulation. I'm buying now and the getting is good.

Whitest woman in America

it does, it has cost us everything, now we lose the mandate of heaven (the stars) and westward the mandate goes...

> Westward the course of empire takes its way;
> The first five Acts already past,
> A sixth shall close the Drama with the day;
> Time's noblest offspring is the last.
> Sun set's on the West
> Is Chinese for sun's rise.
