I've been in one of those. Its a very bumpy ride. They are reliable. But it might be useful for paramilitary groups.

Cheaper labor and materials, simpler mechanics, ... but still might not be enough to explain the whole difference.

Because average American car is safer, it has to comply to tons of safety rules to be able to sold in US. Then you need to take environmental regulations and plenty of other regulations into account. All driving costs higher. Also average American car is made in America with way higher labor costs. Then it is sold by American dealer who will take a cut of final price, they need to paid more than Indian dealer.

No they didn’t. Even now car accidents are one of the top reasons of heavy trauma in civilized world.

Vehicles cost more here because of all the (((safety regulations)))

Regulations
That suv wouldn’t pass DOT regulations from 1995, let alone 2022

Indian trucks work well. I can't remember the brand but they're used everywhere and they aren't fuel injected or anything. The Arabs love them.

so how do we get the government to fuck off. we dont need emissions standards anymore since modern engines are so efficient, they wont start making 10 liter compressionless 80 horsepower carbureted v8s again if the epa goes away

Blame the government. Crash standards, roll over protection, mandatory stability control, airbags, rear view camera, emmissions control. Add in comfort features like power seats locks, windows, remote start, leather...

The brand I was thinking of was Mahindra. If you're on and off farms in Australia you'll see them being used. They're road legal.

the one in op uses a mercedes 4cyl diesel designed in the 1980s so it is fuel injected.

mahindra is based
