I think we are too smart for our own good now. We can rationalize almost ANYTHING now. Point out a dumb decision to people and you get attacked for it. People in debt taking trips, buying cars, going on vacation... all during this "pandemic". It's all rationalized we me me me needs to buy X or go to Y for the weekend. Look at whats acceptable in public now, whats in ads, what they are teaching our children. All of it from outsmarting ourselves, we just fucking rationalize it away. It's not just you rationalizing skipping out on the gym and getting taco bell because it was a hard day at work today kind of tricking yourself anymore. It's swaths of collective consciousness outsmarting the other sides. Just be open about X, Y or Z they say right before attacking you, it's over.
