Was inhabited pre-flood, maybe even before the cataclysm that came before that. It's what's known as Agartha (maybe Hyperborea, one's supposedly the north pole one's supposedly Antarctica. Not 100% sure which is which - could even just be two different names for the same place). Axial shift moved it to the south pole. Important now because it's: a) home of an ancient civilization, the remnants of which are likely mostly buried under a shit ton of ice and snow; and b) one of the only sites where rockets (or UFOs if you're into that) can depart Earth without crossing the Van Allen belts.

It’s where the mother civilization began before the poles shifted

To those who ask and wonder why did they not use these advance weapons and craft to avoid defeat in Europe. This author response to this question of a commenter in the 3rd article provides the logical explanation.

I would suggest anons who are interested in the topic read the book "Fingerprints of the Gods" by Graham Hancock.

Tldr, back in the 1500's or so, some guys made some world maps that are usually compiled via means of a number of even older source maps. Some of these maps included Antarctica, well before the "modern discovery" of the continent.

What's even more interesting is that these maps show the actual COASTAL outline of the continent, without the ice. This means when it was mapped it would have meant that they either had technology to map a continent accurately while it has ice, or that they mapped it when the continent had no ice at all. The latter would suggest that the continent was known about thousands of years ago, and was potentially even settled by a civilization that clearly knew about ocean navigation, a relatively advanced technology, when modern academics would have you believe we were "hunter gatherers" bonking each other on the heads with clubs.

Antarctica research stations are probably covers for archaeology projects to find old technology left behind by antediluvian civilizations.

The Nazis recovered crashed ayylamo spacecraft from an archaeological site under the ice. An extremely old site from a period of time when Antarctica wasn't covered by ice.
They alien spacecraft were still somewhat functional, but the Nazis couldn't figure out how to reverse engineer the technology for their own weapons. The basic technological concept was simple, but it used elements that are not found on Earth. Lots of the research into atomic weapons was actually attempts to synthesize the necessary materials.
After the war, the USA confiscated the alien aircraft and the German scientists who had been working on it.
The American government transferred the alien aircraft to a major defense contractor to study the vehicles at a very high secure facility within a top secret high security US military facility. This layered compartmentalization provided the maximum amount of secrecy. The research was funded a secret budget black book project. Only a handful of people in the Pentagon actually knew what the money was being paid to the contractor for.

They operate by utilizing gravity to create a distorted bubble of space-time and then manipulating the bubble relative to the surrounding space-time.
