Is Any Forums employed?
I have a remote customer support gig, but my supervisor just offered me to transfer into QA.
Should I do it? That's better than being a support monkey right?
Any Forums job thread
Tell the supervisor you don't need to make those kinds of decisions for yourself and to put you where he wants. He is your provider.
I mean I've taken a look at what job is going to be, looks rather complicated, hopefully I'll be able to learn the stuff.
The only IT experience I had before was making small stalker mods as a kid.
Why shouldn't I? Looks like it'll pay more.
Good shit user, next stop CEO
I work 2 days a week in an aged care home, cleaning and feeding old people.
Joking aside. Don’t worry about not knowing. As long as your IQ is above nigger, you’ll figure it out. Every job is people acting like they know more than they do. Pulling for you
Thanks fren! It seems like getting into IT is the only way to earn good money here.
I kinda liked the support gig, it doesn't pay a lot, but I'm extremely comfy, barely do anything and it's 2/2.
The QA position is 5/2, still remote.
I'm just afraid that it won't be comfy.
I'm not really chasing money, but I want to provide for myself and my aging mum, I mean I'm 26 FFS, gotta start making shekels at some point, right?
How's the pay?
Why would somebody who makes money from you offer a raise? Give that decision-making power to the boss. He has the interests o the company in his heart.
They actually offer to train me which is cool I guess, but during the first months the pay won't be much more than now.
That's still good experience and a marketable skill right? QA engineer stuff I mean.
No, I'm too scared to fuck everything up or being unable to learn a job
You don't have a job at all? How old are you fren?
QA is pretty easy and I have a pretty comfy QA job right now. Pay isn't amazing but after going remote and not having to pretend im working for 6+ hours per day it's amazing. There will be some busy times where I'm working 8-12hours but then I have periods of time where I work like 1hour a day.
If you wanna talk a bit / have someone to talk about the job with once you have it leave a method to contact you in some form.
Depends, can you be remote qa?
The QA I'm talking about though is QA for a web app, I guess there could be a lot of other QA stuff that wouldn't be comfy.
Trucker
21, not living in the basement of my parents btw
Yes it's remote, but 5/2 8 hours a day
My current support gig is 2/2 12 hours a day, but I don't do much really
Thanks fren. You can leave a fake email if you have one. Yes, it's a mobile/PC app, has to do with crypto.
Yeah do it, QA has a ladder of promotions above it, customer support doesn't. Also I hear customer support makes you eventually hate people, QA has no external people involved
Do i take the shit job or the pod?
$24 an hour, plus casual loading which is 25% so around $30 an hour.
I haven't been doing anything pretty much until 25, sometimes a freelance job here and there.
Got a token uni degree that isn't of any use.
Just kinda feel like shit for not really doing anything in my early 20s.
I guess I was comfy at least.
Money is pretty nice and can give you independence, take the job
Do you consider it a fair pay for what you do?
Thanks fren! Cheers.
Lost my job in early January because of the Vax. Got called back saying they were willing to let me be an exception as long as I tested (while on company time). They put me on unpaid leave at first before I left but 3 of my seniors died of heart attacks so I told them to go fuck themselves. I burned that bridge but It'll just tell my next employee that my boss let me go because I refused to be on unpaid leave. It'll use coworkers as proof.
Are you a trucker user? You're making the world go around, cheers!
Yes. But that's only because I don't have any real education and this is the best I can get.
>but 3 of my seniors died of heart attacks
Yikes, man, that's crazy, just get a remote gig.
I would never choose a normal job where you gotta show up in the office, I don't like pretending to be a normie and interacting with people IRL
Godspeed!
Just get a remote gig and maybe you'll get a promotion
I'd never do your job user, I hate not being comfy
