Black people are so behind because of slavery. But we've already fulfilled our ethical obligations by freeing them and giving them equal right under the law, and spending billions of dollars over decades to fruitlessly attempt to elevate them. we have no more obligation. Black people live in communities and have full right to associate and coordinate to pass laws and enact policies in their communities to better their station. However, they simply refuse to do so. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. It's simply not my fault or concern that black communities devolve into crime rather than forming groups aimed at social betterment. Lots of cities are well over 50% black but they stubbornly refuse to vote for the policies you seem to think would magically fix their communities.

Most of our ancestors who crossed over from Europe with nothing also lived in squalor and filth. And then in a generation they were living on the Upper West Side. Many Poles, Italians, Irish, and others, were also not seen as properly white or desirable.
