The aim of accelerating the collapse is that people you agree with will be able to take over in the power vacuum.
What hope do you have that the folks who take over will be in agreement with you? There are so many competing ideologies that would kill to take hold in the immediate aftermath of a collapse.

The point is to skip the steps that lead up to their end-goal. They HAVE to work their way up there for people to accept the change, but if you cause outrage by showing the end-goal before they are ready, they disregard the whole idea they are pushing.

Once things collapse we no longer have to pretend to care about other people. We can just do what we want and face our own consequences. Most people are very dumb, so that means they will flock to power and be trapped, some people can see this and can avoid power.
