Contemporary evidence is not needed to prove someone existed. There is none of Alexander the Great, but we do know his impact and credible historians that compiled the stories.
However, there is contemporary records of Jesus. Christian AND pagan.
Tacitus, a Roman historian of Jesus time and a hater of Christians, wrote about thw existance of this "superstition" about a man killed by the Prefect Pontius Pilatus.
Another is Josephus, a Roman ex-Jew that compiled the Messiahs of the 1st century. Jesus is mentioned. It was edited however, as it has a rather obvious footnote saying "otherwise known as Jesus the Christ savior of mankind" or something. Yet, there is a mention of Jesus in a part that was not edited. It mentions an evangelizer called James that was "the brother" of Jesus.
Of course, there are Christian sources, namely the correspondence and the gospels written in the first century, most now in the Bible (though not all, ofc).
Almost all historians, atheist or not, acertain that there was a man called Jesus of Nazareth and was executed in the first century. Events like the baptism of Jesus by the just-as-historical John the Baptist is said to have been likely.

I've give some thought to this and I think everyone has their faith according to their capability. For example, a child or a woman cannot comprehend very much but they can still have right faith that the most highest God would accept.

Did you ever have a friend or a parent or a teacher whom you trusted a lot? That helped you when you were down, and led you when you didnt know where to go. That whenever you needed it, that person came to rescue you.
This is because of a history. That person saved your ass you some time, and did it again and again.
The Faith you got in that person was not blind. It wasnt trust to a stranger. Having faith on someone whom you have no history with, whom you dont know the damn name? No! Thats being stupid.
When people have faith in Christ, it is for a reason. You are a Christian for a reason. You have a history, you probably prayed and gave you courage, or you had a personal experience IRL, or was there for somebody you know that needed it. Perhaps it was the theology, it made sense. Maybe it was transferred from your parents. You trusted you parents thus you trust whom they trust. Entirely possible.
In the end, faith isnt blind. It never is. I personally encourage you so, if you never had, to have a personal experience. To FEEL God, to FEEL with certainty how He helped. All that try get it. Dont pray for praying, pray with intention. Let the inspiration that is the Holy Spirit flow through you. Your Faith, if it ever was, will then not be blind.
