because production meets demand, women create a demand for goods and services when there is no need for those goods and services. therefore an economny which is developed to serve the wants of women will sell more stuff than an economny which only sells to men(what is needed).

but function is only a modern occurance as this is also a product of labour having little to no value. eg 1 fat mexican lady can operate the machine that makes 1000 dildos an hour, whereas just 150 years ago prior to widespread industrialisation(no engines or electricity) 1 person would have to spend 80% of thier time growing / gathering food (and since there was no engines, you would need to eat more calories, so you can be the machine that does any task that involves making or moving something)

so historicaly only 1% of a population could afford(to extract enough labour from others) to live some sort of consumerist lifestyle we would recognise today. unless there was "slavery" so more available labour that maybe 1-3% of a population could live a consumerist lifestyle. which is why prior to engines slavery was present in every society.

in this context of a restriction of goods or a requirement of massive labour expenditure to "consume" anything, extremly strict decision making about what was labour was spent on had to be made, enough food, shelter, defenses from neighbours who wanted your stuff instead of spending thier own labour, can you risk buying a new tool if it doesnt save you anytime? you could end up without enough food to survive. as such decision making about capital allocation was totally in the hands of men(who produced the most units of labour, and understood what would improve productivity), so as not risk the family(family units were economically required then) being wiped out.

basically combine harvestors means 80% of people have nothing of real value to do now, so women are vessels of endless demand, which means that 80% will always have something to do.
