I find myself integrating more and more of my life into a smartphone to the point where losing it would be almost a massive hit to my life. It would lock me out of so much that I would be thrown asunder for a week or two until I get all the shit working again.
I am cool with having all this stuff on my computer at home, but carrying it around just seems too vulnerable.
Is society just going to almost mandate that I have a smartphone now? I have a smartphone and it's more than 4 years old and it's getting slow from age. I have more than enough money to replace it, but I find myself wondering if I should and then I just stop looking and put up with it until I get into this discussion with myself again.
That S7 was at half the price of the iPhone at the time, but it was at least good. Now Samsung is more expensive and worse than the iPhone.

the canadian government knows every ottawa protestor's name and message/call history. how far has that gotten them? the answer is to live your life like normal and hurt anyone that tries to hurt you.
Just put lineageos on it. Don't give your money to Jews. If you want a new device, make sure you can put lineage in it.
Thomas Russell
What is the least Jewish phone out there?
I've already made a promise to myself to never buy Apple devices. I have a Samsung because it was the only decent competitor back in 2013 when I got into smartphones.
However, I find even they are packing a fuck ton of bloatware and dumb spy shit on their phones.
James Peterson
I hate 'em. I don't support them at all. but I have one.
Jack Roberts
I'm probably gonna get a pixle and out grapheneos on it

I just got a Cat S22 It's like a shitty smartphone in the body of a rock hard flip phone. It runs Android Go, which can technically run most apps. The top screen is a normal touchscreen, so you don't need to do the keypad bullshit to type, but it is still a pain because the screen is tiny and awkward to hold. It's build for hardcore resilience, and feels awesome solid. I just want to throw it at somebody. And the flip action on a flip phone is more of a joy than you remember. And yet I'm not fucked out of being able to use a smartphone app when I need to. I sign into google to get mail and contacts and stuff. And I can use the internet if I need to. It is just capable enough that I can do anything I would need to in an emergency, but just enough of a pain in the ass so that I don't want to do it frivolously.
The only thing so far that it is straight incompatible with is Android Auto, which I used to use for navigation in my car. But this just incentivized me to finally mount an old Garmin GPS, which I already wanted to do to reduce phone dependence and stop Google from tracking me (as much). Android Auto was a glitchy piece of shit sometimes anyways.
I've only had it a few weeks, but so far, it's fitting exactly the role I was hoping.
Lineage os has no bloatware. You install google apps only if you want to. It is clean as can be. Software wise you are in good hands with lineage.
I've gone to deep end with hardware, almost all devices are made in chyna and are pozzed. Samshit, not sure if the make it in Korea anymore. Asus is Taiwanese but idk user. LG and Snoy don't make phones anymore.
Pixels and one plus devices are supposed to be easier when it comes to installing lineage. That's is the only reason to recommend them.
Eli Jenkins
iPhone is most secure, but if you're really paranoid then get a landline and ditch the cell. any phone can be bugged.
Parker Murphy
>iPhone is most secure Lmao fuck off you deluded toddler
Cooper Rodriguez
I'm actually using an s7 now, I have never bought a phone since I had like a moto krzr. I stole an s2 the day after it came out from some redditor at a party the day after it was released it had a bunch of rage comics on it. Since then I just have a buddy who gives me all his old phones next time I see him he'll probably toss me his s10. A few years ago I was using an iPhone 4 for awhile when my my old phone broke and everyone was all jealous and shit it was weird.
Eli Powell
>I just got a flip phone >I sign into google Don't you understand that you're doing it wrong

I fucking tried to install a custom rom a while back and nearly bricked my phone. Barely managed to figure out how to restore it.
Is it pretty straightforward to do?
Brody Gray
because I have a mobile device in my car the US deer population is -1 as of Friday night... they are evil.. reject them
Get an old google pixel 3 or 4 that has already been degoogled on ebay. When you start up for the first time you can pick Lineage or CaylxOS. I use Caylx and it is great. No bloat, no contact tracing, battery lasts 3x longer because no spying apps.
Aiden Rodriguez
good luck downgrading user. i am practically being forced into smartphone territory with the shutdown of the 3G networks.
Sebastian Cook
Modern dumbphones are shit, they usually have slow KaiOS on them with Facebook preinstalled. Old dumbphones are not working in northern America beause they shut the network down, I heard. Like people mention here, check out LineageOS or GrapheneOS to get rid of the Jewgle. Pixels have the best support and are also quite good for the price although Jewgle makes them so they get your money. Samsung and Sony devices are also good. Just check lists of supported devices so you know flashing a new ROM will be easy and you won't have to waste time with some manual optimalizations.
Angel Campbell
shutting them down as of the end of this month in most of the US, and then later on in the year for most other carriers. if is a fucking travesty.
Ryan Cruz
Woaw, this is what I'm talking about. Is this as easy to find as you say?
I'd pay good money for a smartphone that doesn't trace the fuck out of you.
I pretty much only use it for some authenticators, Signal, WhatsApp (I know it's Jewish), watching Jewtube and listening to podcasts.
Jordan Rivera
Also, regarding iPhones: yeah, they are more secure and private than out of the box Android phones, but that doesn't really mean much. It's still closed OS, you can't really know what it does in the background although some analysis shows it does less than Google but it can change anytime and it certainly will change, just see those plans of on-device scanning of your files to "protect children". You don't really own the device, Apple does. I have an old iPhone because it still works but I refuse to upgrade and once it shits the bad I'm moving to LineageOS or GrapheneOS.
>I stole an s2 What the hell, user, that's really ba- >from some redditor -sed.
Grayson Cook
I had a burner when my smartphone started having issues. I survived. I just made a stupid purchase today though, I bought a chromebook... I wanna kill myself. Fuck all tech. I hate it.
Noah Bailey
It's a shame, really. I think there's still a lot of people who don't really need a small computer on them all the time and many of those old phones still are perfectly functional, but I guess it's bad if we don't waste money on new (((PRODUCTS))) every two years.
Camden Nelson
Pixels have good support because it has stock android which android is owned by google.
