Install noscript. It'll feel like torture to use at first, but it takes less effort the more you use it (after a month or so you barely touch the thing) and then you'll never want to leave it.

What does NoScript do? It's like a condom between you and fishy links.

But it's also a diagnostic tool at the same time - you need to give scripts permission one domain at a time, and some places have more domains than others.
