Do you wear glasses Any Forums ?

At what age did you get prescribed glasses or contacts? Are you aware that the optometrist lied to you in order to make money?

no I actually have really good vision

Yes, got mine at fourteen. My prescription has never changed. Recently my short vission started to get worse but I've been doing eye exercises every day and it's improved. Hasn't done anything for my long vision.
Do you have a solution cryptic user?

Got mine when I was 19. I hate them

I can feel how my IQ dropped by several points after watching this shit video.

how old are you? at a certain age (40-50), the lens get stiff which might cause your vision to get worse for close up work.

No

So the myopia epidemic is nothing to worry about and has no underlying cause?

>At what age did you get prescribed glasses or contacts
I was 10 years old. It was right after my uncle started raping me :(

Yeah they work

man, must have been tough. have you been able to work through the trauma?

wtf is this scam how does the cure work? do you wear glasses that make your vision worse so your eye corrects? do you do training looking at far away objects? WHAT IS THE MECHANISM !?

Early forties. That sounds about right I could almost feel them struggling to adjust from looking at phone to the world at large.
I've genuinely improved them by spending five minutes a day rapidly changing from far to close.

i never wear my glasses, makes me look like a freak

The scam is that glasses is just a crutch that makes your eyes weaker over time, which makes you require an even bigger crutch. The cure is to use weaker glasses than what you have been prescribed. This will give you slightly blurry vision at a distance. Then you use the method od "active focus" to clear up this blurr. Over time, your eye will change shape and your vision will get better. Then you buy even weaker glasses and repeat until you are back at 20/20

>rapidly changing from far to close.
is this the secret cure? just going for a walk and looking at stuff far away then looking at something up close?

ok ok so you still have to just buy a series of glasses? the secret to getting off this terrible scam of glasses is to buy more glasses!? ARRGHH those bastards

Are you Jake Steiner?

When I was 8. Bad eyesight runs in my family. Never even knew I needed glasses until my mom put hers down for a sec, I popped them on, and went "wow, I see better with these"

you have to destinguish between near sightedness and far sightedness. To cure near sightedness you need to train your eyes to focus at a distance

No, but his channel is great.

I was probably like 9, I didn't know you could see all the leaves on trees from more than 10 feet away. My mom cried on that car ride home

Requiring glasses before 50yo is only for bottom-of-the-barrel genetics

just buy cheap ones of the internet. the actual cost to make a pair of glasses is in the order of 10 dollars, but the optometrish charges you hundreds of dollars

>didn't know you could see all the leaves on trees from more than 10 feet away
kek same

Bump. I am sick of the modern world and its lies.

I was doing it for other reasons, but it has had a noticeable difference in my eyes.
So for example going from top left of room, to bottom right at a table close to me.
Then from top right to something close near the centre of the room.
Hasn't done anything for my long vission but I don't struggle to adjust to up close anymore, and it was getting so bad I had to move things further away from my eyes to adjust.
I remember seeing exercises before which were just holding your finger close to your eyes and then changing focus from close to far away.

that is the misconception. In most cases it is not due to genetic, but the lack of using your eyes to look at a distance

I started wearing them when I was like 12. And yes I believe that increasing the strength of the prescription definitely leads to your eyes becoming worse and worse. Hopefully I will get lasik eventually.

Be careful with Lasik. optically it is the same as putting on stronger glasses and there is a risk for some nasty side effects. If you have the motivation, it is better to do the endmyopia rout. ( assuming that you are myopic)
