Mythbusters B team went into chem trails and ended up letting it out that they seed clouds with planes some times to control the temp. Plus some air conditions are good for just pushing the moisture from the air forming clouds. But there is an admission of a tank and spraying system so who actually knows what the fuck is the reason.

Chem trails are geoengineering, chemical particulates that are spread throughout the air in order to reduce the temperature increase, I remember this clearly as this was and still is a current objective of government and government aligned groups. The objective is to figure out a way to reduce overall global temperatures by dowsing the air with certain chemicals which reduce heat and thereby decrease temperature, it's due to the fear of global warming.

While I'm not really sold on chemtrails being something malignant, they are different than just contrails. Many of the people that claim chemtrails are something nefarious are aware of what contrails are and in some videos they will show the point out contrails compared to what they claim are chemtrails.
