The only thing preventing Trudeau from turning himself into a defacto King is his own stupidity and lack of ambition. None of our rights are absolute and even if we get some drawdown of restrictions (Saskatchewan style), short of total constitutional reform and fair courts, there is nothing preventing them from doing this again on a whim. It cannot be stressed enough that we need constitutional change focused on adopting a proven model of government within a functional constitutional framework.
