The Technological Society

We are living in an inhuman, invisible tyranny due to technology. Those with power have a monopoly on opinion and on choice and wont relinquish it now that technology has allowed for a revolution of mass and scale. Individual human wants and desires no longer matter. Humans are mass produced and we feed the system, rather than the system supporting us. Notice how we're slowly becoming a post-literate society and we're beginning rely more and more on information given in video and audio format? It's post-human. There's no nuance. There's no intellectualism. Intellectualism is no longer required because human wants and desires are superfluous to the functioning of the machine. Only satisfying base desires is necessary.
Will AI be the final nail in the coffin?

technology is great.. i am 56 and remember a time when we had to steal Hustler magazines for porn.. and got caught sometimes. Now we can see any porn we want, for free, anytime.

Intellectualism, mandatory education and literacy levels were in fact a necessity of industrial society who needed to educate its workers more than agriculture required of them. Now that most of the workforce is superfluous, governments are taking money away from public education because they need to dumb us down. Each country is different of course, the US cannot be compared to France on the question of education, but the general trends stay the same.
Rich people will send their kids to schools with in person teaching while the rest of us will have our kids sit in front of a screen to receive the mandatory brainwashing that keeps them pacified and retarded.

>Will AI be the final nail in the coffin?
Read what Ted had to say about geo-engineering. That’s the ‘final nail in the coffin’ when it comes to being a semi-autonomous human being in industrial society.

Then you're old enough to remember that the world has not changed significantly since you were a child. Everything since has been an unneccessary improvement of a perfected form. TV has not changed for the better it just has more channels for more commercials to sell you more useless crap. The concept of the car has not generally improved but to provide more luxury features and GPS tracking capabilities. We've already reached the pinnacle.

Don’t worry about society. Worry about yourself and all things important to you. Improve your own life by unplugging and taking health/fitness seriously. Stop watching porn. Eventually things will stop being shit and we’ll have plenty of strong men to explore space.

>Will AI be the final nail in the coffin?
Yes. The ruling classes have, through out history, always depended on the lower classes. For security, for food, for the well being of society and the state.
With an AI workforce, the plebs are simply no longer needed. They're obsolete. The question then becomes, why would the ruling classes need the plebs?
The normie technophile expects that UBI will be created and the utopia he has always dreamed about will be ushered in. You no longer have to work, and have everything you can ever dream of.
I see it playing out radically different.

Ok coomer

>technology is bad
>but also might makes right
>technology=might

Spoken like a true American.

This is acctually a huge blackpill and not a counterpoint. Its solved only by periodicity. We are in a cycle of growing and falling empires. Where the needs of a collective grow an empire and the needs of the individual destroy it.

There is nothing wrong with either. Its Nature.

It's an interesting philosophical discussion.

If we invent robots who clean up trash for us, will we eventually evolve a rotten culture where we smear trash all over the place?
>but but but the robots will clean up up anyway

Based shameless coomer boomer

How do you plan to improve your own life as the fingers of technocracy reach further and further into it? Society discourages you to improve anything about yourself and soon enough will completely disable you from doing so.

You have the might to put dildo in your mouth, and you will.
Capitalism is perfect for creating value where there before was none.
But what is considered value is diminishing, what used to be valuable, now is a net negative.
The very thing you want is in decline.
You want less.
The reason we don't all have flying cars isn't because we don't have the technology to make it, nor is it because of licenses and FAA regulations.
There are plenty of helicopters and most people's motorbikes have more power to weight than one.
The reason we don't have flying cars is because nobody looks up at the sky and dream of flying anymore, they'll just play it in a playstation or watch a movie, and that's enough for them.

That's Nick Diaz that is

blah blah
I like living. technology is grand.
