They need to raise interest rates to slow or stop inflation, we currently have an "everything bubble" pretty much since 2008, they tried to pop it in 2019 but the damage it was causing scared the fed back into printing money. With the inflation getting worse the fed has two options. Fight inflation and raise interest rates which will pop the bubble and at best lead to an economic recession. Or keep interest rates low which will keep inflation going higher and risk a dollar collapse. There is no more road left to kick this can down...
Maybe, Powell will probably freak out and start printing again once he see the damage from raising rates which in turn will keep inflation high, unless he can somehow convince people inflation is over despite what they see at the grocery store....
