Diogenes was the spiritual predecessor to Any Forums and the best western philosopher l. No one else comes close. He was right that most people focus on trivial bullshit and miss the point of life. The only one who may come close is Nietzsche, but he loses points because he cared enough to write shit down. I think Nietzsche would agree with me on that too.

There are no primary sources by Diogenes. One cant even be sure that Diogenes was a real person and not just an urban legend that was used as metaphor

In a way, it is almost like Plato identified the Cave, and was so excited to tell everybody about it, whereas Diogenes had already left the Cave on day one and was like "ya bro, u srs? Ur just figuring this out? Shut the fuck up and smoke a j man"
It reminds me a lot of us at times. When I meet budding young thinkers, or straight up midwits, they are always impressed with meta critiques of society, but then they don't commit and apply them. They know life is fake and gay but they still play the game working in middle management or whatever. And then when we are all living on the fringes of society relentlessly mocking, they're still like woah guys why are you doing this?

it is retarded for the sake of lack of competetiveness. Sure, it all goes back into the box once the game is over, when you die you no longer have use for your material belongings, however your children or grandchildren might still use it and so on.

this is for me the greatest problem and flaw with Diogeneses supposed ideas. It is inherently accepting to not amount to anything beyond living in a barrel because everyone is going to die one day anyway.
