I guess that's true. There are tons of code bounty projects newbies could use to get their foot in the door and get credible references to get hired. I've been doing it for so long, I get calls every day from recruiters asking me if I'm looking for a job. Even if you only do $300 a day jobs, that's still about 78K a year.
