They;re loosening up on the restrictions because they think it'll help them at the ballot box on election day. How the elections go will directly impact whether restrictions are scaled up, scaled down, or removed completely. If democrats get blown the fuck out in november we'll see restrictions loosen at the state and local level; at the federal level we'll see some spiteful shit straight from the federal bureaucrats. If the election is a draw, meaning a few seats change hands but nothing big overall, the same restrictions will stay in place. If the dems improve their position we will get more restrictions in place.
