It already exists. It's been around for 5 years. It's called VRChat. Everything that Facebook and the other FAGMAN companies are promising to do with the Metaverse has already been done by VRChat, without the invasive advertising and datamining.
I do warn you however, that though that once you start role playing as your anime waifu, wearing cute anime oufits, dancing with full-body tracking and the like, it won't be long before gender becomes erased in your mind and you end up in a gay VR relationship.
