Yeah, I've been telling my friends that they need to do more than just go to the therapist to fix their problems (since it clearly isn't working, some of them been going there for more than 3 with zero effects), but if you tell them something like "you should go to the gym" they start sperging out how gym wouldn't help them. I mean maybe, but add to that better diet, going outside more, supplements etc. and it would help them. But no, they somehow just toss aside all of this by either focusing on saying that one of these things in particular wouldn't help them (eg. gym), completely missing the point that you need to do more than just one of those things at the same time to improve. It's like they can't understand that all of those things might he somehow interconnected, and that combination of those would actually help them. But as you said, they are specifically focused on finding that one cure all pill, and I'm not just talking about anti depressants, but people tend to just completely miss a bigger picture and focus on one thing too much. But the reality is that human brain and body are complex systems that we are yet to fully comprehend. The only way to fix something like depression you need to change many small things about your life that all add up.

I agree with you. Diet and exercise is a HUGE contributor to how you feel. But I do feel like adding a healthy philosophy to it helps, too, which is why I advocated Stoicism earlier. Too many people are depressed about things that are entirely outside of their control, and that's a horrible way to live.
If something is outside your control, you should minimize your attention to it, because focusing on it only takes your attention away from things that are within your control.
