Proximity. They just want what's close by. They also want the oil. Britain is still seen as an imperialist warmonger. We don't particularly need the flaklands - unlike Gibraltar, which is strategically located. But the inhabitants are all 100% British and speak normal English. They have a right to remain British so the islands cannot simply be taken over, not without a hot war anyway.

Argentina is a failed state. The Kirchners saw to that. Galtieri had a fit of nationalism and thought he could take the Falklands because he believed Britain was resigned to a steady, managed decline and would simply let the islands go. Unfortunately for him, and for the Argentinian soldiers, Margaret Thatcher was no pushover and we took back what he tried to steal. Today, Argentina cannot even run its own country, or satisfy its debt obligations, let alone mount a task force to take our property or even negotiate a peaceful transfer of sovereignty - not that the islanders would ever countenance that anyway. You see, we Brits can thrive and even flourish with scant resources, while South Americans, with all their silver, oil and gold, cannot even feed themselves. Anglos really are superior, and that's the simple truth of the matter.

Law of proximity. They believe that alone means the land is theirs.
The land apparently belonged to them prior to a civil war they had among themselves, but despite knowing how the British took their southern Islands they still don't understand how violence is why those Islands rightfully belong to us; even after that last double tap we did in the 80s.
If they are still confused then they should try and figure out how the channel islands (Guernsey, Jersey, etc) should belong to the French by law of proximity yet it is still ours. Same thing even to this day too.
