Fellow eurobros

Why don't we write anymore in runes?

i write in ogham

Runes are lower level code, roman alphabet is higher level code.
High level is easier to deal with.
Low level is more powerful.
The previous sentences can't really be written in runes, nor can this sentence.

Many reasons
Usually related to christcucks and romanaboos
Seriously, the 1500s fanboyism for pseudo-latin really fucked the English language up (as well as the Norman conquest

But anyway, runes no longer fully match up with modern sounds of the defendant languages they used to write

So any way you try to use them today is necessarily going to be a larp, or, an interpretation of how you think they should or would have mapped onto modern sounds if they were used up until today

So for example the ᛟ rune (in the anglo SAXON Futhorch) was used for the œ sound which modern English doesn't have, but no rune for "uh" as in "fuck"

That said, Hurlebatte has a really really good proposal of how to write runes for modern English
youtu.be/ijoy_ig7Poo

This proposal is essentially a mapping of the original rune sounds onto modern English as they were
The alternative to this however would be to project new sounds on to the runes given the way vowels changed throughout the history of English, (much like for example the letter "i" in the Latin alphabet originally meant an "ee" sound, but doesn't in modern English today) but this would look totally different and I have not seen a good proposal on this yet

This doesn't make any sense
the latin alphabet developed to write latin, which only had 5 vowels (10 if you count long and short versions but that just had to do with vowel length)
the runes were developed to write germanic languages, which had on average more vowels (modern English has 14, for example)

so when we write with the latin alphabet we aren't easily able to write words in even one-way phonetic fashion (meaning, if you see the word you will know how to pronounce it, but not necessarily write the word if you hear it, as opposed to two-way phonetic where you can write the word if you only hear it and pronounce it if you only read it) so basically we just memorize spelling like we're fucking Chinese or something

one of the beauties of runes is the distinction between 'æ' (the 'a' in cat or hat) and 'ɑ' (the ah sound in want or got) which really clears up much of the complications with the latin system

yes we do since all the rune keyboards out there right now are made by grifting retards who don't have a clue what they're doing and give you wrong answers so you can get a gay astrology tattoo or whatever

Old Norse Hávamal written in Elder Futhark.

If you want to learn Runes you should learn Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse first.

The problem is that just like today there are thousands of dialects spread across Northern Europe so it's really complicated.

But we do write in runes

That's actually a better question I think. The benefits of vehiclea are obvious but I think the costs aren't really worth it and we would be a lot better, subjectively speaking, if we did away with car culture andade horses popular again.

Any good keyboards exist, or would custom keys be better for a mechanical?
>Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse first
Which dialects are best, and do you have a site to recommend? Also, why those languages and not Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian? Didn't they use those runes too, or have they changed to much over the years that they aren't helpful?
