Each patriarch is able to act as a check on the others and if there is a tainted limb, it can be severed. It’s blockchain Christianity. Unlike Catholicism which produces constant doctrinal innovations, Orthodoxy therefore lives outside of time, unchanging. And unlike Protestantism too-Protestantism is of course decentralized too but in trying to escape the Papacy, the Reformation threw the baby out with the bath water..Christianity needs to be apostolic/historically tied to Christ if it is to be real. All of this becomes obvious the first time you walk into an Orthodox Church and something in your soul recognizes it’s truly ancient.

Religious works rely on our own willpower/effort/righteousness to reconcile ourselves to God thus rejecting Jesus and His sacrifice. Only those who believe in Jesus through His finished work for their salvation are saved or in His Body. Christians believe that Jesus exists and that He is the Son of God but many of them don't believe in Him for their salvation because they still believe in themselves through their religion. They operate under their own faith through religion and not under the saving faith from God in Christ. They are unbelievers in the sight of God.

Sui Juris. They are in communion with Rome but follow everything standard in the Byzantine Rite, essentially Orthodoxy to a tee. They even void the Filioque clause.
Hilariously enough this is all because of Vatican II. While it was a death poison for the Latin Rite, it actually empowered the Byzantine Rite to remove all Latin and go back to being 100% Greek and uniform to the Orthodoxy in Liturgical actions.
You believe in religion or an institution and not in God through Jesus Christ. Your faith is in religion and not in Jesus. You're an idolater because you can only believe in something that you can physically see. You can only believe in something that you can see because you're operating under your own self-faith and not the the divine faith from God in Christ and you don't have this divine or saving faith because you don't follow Jesus through His word.

Orthodoxy by definition is not very flexible or open to logocal enquiry. I agree it has fewer inconsistencies and heresies, but it also suffers from huge first priniciples assumptions. I gave it a shot and will continue to look into it, but there are many assumptions installed in its adherents in childhood.
For me, vespers is just some perfume and a relaxing atmosphere with chanting (beautiful) , or a statue made of plaster and plastic. A priest is just a man with a psychological and mental structure supported by a community. For the worshippers all these carry far more meaning, but that doesn't make them true, universal or transendant. Which is the orthodox claim. It is also seperated by culture, which is a huge Flag.
God's purpose is for me to turn into a protestant contrarian who attacks anything that resembles the inner workings of civilization that enables the continual existence of the religion which he created ?
