How are they going to justify this? Not even the dumbest NPC is going to be fooled into thinking that it's sensible to pay for an ongoing "service" to have heated seats? There's no service being provided. You bought the car. You bought the seat and heating element. What is the car company doing exactly?

Why not make cars coin operated? The AC costs extra.
Then once a month a guy from the manufacturer shows up and empties the coin tray.

>What is the car company doing exactly?
Software updates ofc
If you don't pay and it burns your ass you're on your own.

>Not even the dumbest NPC is going to be fooled
Oh, Canada.

I can't wait for Linux for Toyotas (or whatever) to roll out. If they're going to go the way of broadcast TV with cars I'm going to go sail the 7 seas. If it has an OS it can be jailbroken, and most cars have some shit version of Android.

"You will own nothing" is a misnomer.
You will own certain basic things that it can never be pragmatic to rent.
But owning material "luxuries", which were previously accrued and served as the metric by which people measured improvement of their station in life, will be a thing of the past for the vast majority of people.
essentially anything even remotely fancy that can be "tacked on" to a basic good or service will be offered on a subscription or "pay-per-use" basis.

I am actually genuinely curious whether they are doing this to mitigate an impending economic collapse as a result of horrendously irresponsible spending and financial policy-making over the last 20 years,
or if all of that is a ruse and this is purely about forcing a return to neo-feudalism so that only arrogant, self-righteous billionaires can afford nice things.
Could be a mix of both.

I once thought that way I remember when bottled water came out I laughed I said I get water for free I'll put it in a bottle and carry it if I need it
in the corner of my house right now I have 5 cases of water They will pay for it and they will be happy

There are no other options available.
Any attempt to break into the market with an alternative will be quashed using the standard aggressive corporatism tactics.

People buying cars new is at an all time low. This is full retard.

then I don't want heated seats? Give me the model without any monthly payment services or I'll buy an old used car.

Cant do much when everyone is doing it

>How are they going to justify this? Not even the dumbest NPC is going to be fooled into thinking that it's sensible to pay for an ongoing "service" to have heated seats?
two options:
either do it voluntarily, or they will enforce it through regulation
they will just pass a law that to meet NHTSA regulations, a vehicle must have an "active crash avoidance system capable of deactivating the engine in the event of unsafe conditions" (you know, like they just did) and you'll be forced to have the big CIA brain controlling your car, or you won't be able to register it.
and along with that comes the ability to remote update and force you to purchase a "turn signal subscription" or your ECU bricks itself

this
why do you think you can't buy a Hilux in the US?

What are you gonna do about it, fag?

>i drive arch by the way

Rewire it for manual control

Great fucking post as usual, me.
The rest of you faggots respond, please.

Please drink verification can and scan vaxx pass for heated seats

Not spend money on your bullshit? Buy something older and cheaper? Sell off market heated seats? The possibilities are endless.

>Rewire and by aftermarket parts to fix the issue
>B-BUT MUH WARRANTY

Truth is I'll buy older cars and fix them up, or mod my new cars to exclude the kikes. Fuck the warranty, as soon as that's over there's literally no reason not to do it on your own.

>Give me the model without any monthly payment services or I'll buy an old used car.
OH SHIT sowwwwwwy, oopsie-woopsie, we pwinted a bunch of money and made a fucky-wucky and now used cars cost $10k above kelley blue book value
also, they'll just pass some bullshit law that you're not allowed to drive a car without a central ECU controller talking to the cloud because of "emissions" or something

the general rule with the government is take a situation, and imagine what you would do if you wanted to be the most evil, obstructive cunt possible
>sorry, we did cash for clunkers so there are no more used car parts
>sorry, we outlawed non-hybrids so now you need an nVidia RTX3090 to make your car run
>sorry, we fucked up the supply chains so now your car costs 25% more because we can't get any RTX cards
>sorry, you can't pass emissions or safety unless your car has nine different remote killswitches and the engine won't run unless you put your credit card in it
>sorry, it's now a subscription because we said so, what are you gonna do, not drive?

This is proof that we don't have an actual free market economy. If I had the capital, I could offer the same products without the monthly "service" fee for the stuff you bought and paid for and make a huge fortune as the guy who sells you tech with no strings attached, but I have a feeling that anyone that tries will probably get fucked over by the alliance of Big Government and Big Tech. We are in a crony socialist state and the last remnants of a free market will be regulated and deplatformed out of existence. And small start-up businesses will be destroyed so everyone has to work for the collective.

The wealthy don't care and just pay it.
The poor don't care and just do without.

I will join the Mennonites and ride a horse. Good luck stopping me and also roadblock checkpoints can eat my ass

>tfw rolling with TempleOS that automatically runs over glow niggers on sight
like a rocketship fucking JIT compiler and these mit cattle retards are using a bike with training wheels

People who buy new cars are already a lost cause so who cares.

and then people will buy heat blankets with a car usb charger and just use that. Are they crazy?

unironically this, i moved to a small town that has everything in walking distance. my next move is a northern mennonite town again, use to live near one they are cozy, gonna get a Ford Model T and some horses, maybe a Toyota truck for good measure kek

>subscriptions for basic car features
Makes you wonder why kit cars aren't more popular

I'll still drive my 24 years old car, fueled with ethanol. No electronics, parts everywhere and I can change everything myself with a little mechanical knowledge and some basic tools, cheap as fuck to drive, to maintain.
If you are buying any car made after the year 2000 you are begging for the pozzed car industry to dilate your asshole.

metadata.
it's all metadata.
the AI revolution allows them to perform deep learning on all of your data to interpolate completely unrelated things and turn your every day activity into a predictive heuristic
Why do you think phones NEEEEEED 5G when you can already stream 1080 in most places on LTE? Why do you think cars now have a cellular connection, whether you need/pay for it or not? why do you think PiHole totally breaks most streaming services? why do you think your phone gets hot in your pocket despite not really doing much? Have you ever looked at the data going in/out of your home network?
all of this shit is just to scrape as much data as humanly possible from even your most innocuous behaviors in order to apply it to an AI/deep learning algorithm and learn how to control you through little nudges like advertisements, news articles, even random shit like minor inconvenient updates.

Jokes on them. I drive clunkers.
