All joking aside, for the massive amount of resources/money it took to get that much weight into low ears orbit they might as well repurpose it for something.
One would be think there’s something so fucked with it they have no other choice but to get rid of it, but if they are giving it a 10 year lifespan you could do a lot with it in that time. Even if it couldn’t support life it would make for a deep space station to stage supplies, or at least an antenna. Shit, load it with what ever fuel it uses for simple propulsion and send it slow train style out of the solar system. It will get somewhere eventually.
