What's the best way to get in touch with the Vancouver protest organizers? I have an idea that, if we pull this off, could be a bigger story than Ottawa right now.
90% of the food and gasoline on the island is delivered via ferry, specifically the Tsawwassen terminal, which supplies Duke Point and Swartz Bay. The only other route to the island is West Van to Nanaimo, but it has a fraction of the sailings and smaller boats/docks/etc.
The Tsawassen terminal is several kilometres out from the shore and connected by a thin peninsula. Just two lanes each way supply the entire island. Blockade this, and the gas pumps run out in days, store shelves in a week.
